The terrain around the Lago Maggiore with its lush vegetation, lively colours anf the variety of trees and flowers is ideal to play golf. Iles Borromées is situated on the mountainous side of the lake, 600 m above sea level, and spreads over 72 he natural area that, except for two swampy spots, which were transformed into lakes, wasn't changed. The hilly location demands a bit of perservance.

 

From MILAN: highway Autostrada A8 direction Lakes, then Autostrada A26 direction Gravellona Toce. At the Carpugnino exit turn to your right, the course is less than 2 km away.

From STRESA: follow the direction Gignese /Autostrada 26 and then the Golf Course signs.

Next to the 18 hole course the course also offers visitors restaurants, conference rooms, tennis courts, riding stables as well as a cozy and at the same time practical club house, in which you can relax after a challenging round.

Direction Luino / Laveno.

The course is situated in the province Verbania at the shore of the Lago Mergozzo and offers magnificent views on the nearby Alps. It consists of 9 normal holes par 68 and 9 executive par 27, which are considered very interesting to play since the fairways are interrupted by different little lakes and alder forests. The course is especially suited for beginners.

 

The Golf & Sporting Club Verbania can be reached:

by the motorway A26 Gravellona, taking the Baveno or Verbania exit

or

by the 34 State Highway from Verbania to Fondotoce

 

You will find the Golf Club half way between the large roundabout at Fondotoce and the railway station of Verbania.

The 9-hole-course of the Arona Golf Club is the newest one in the region of the Lago Maggiore. It is situated in undulating, but nit difficult terrain and has, thanks to its good location, already won a great number of memebers in the first two years, furthermore the course has a well-equipped driving range with 10 roofed tees as well as a putting and pitching green.
